Church Planting Intern

Mexico City is the largest city in Latin America, with approximately 24 million people in the entire metropolitan area. The State of Mexico (EdoMex) is home to 17 million of that population and wraps around two sides of Mexico City. Accordingly, EdoMex, as part of the greater Metropolitan area is an important and strategic location for ministry outreach and church planting.

Within the church planting context, there would be opportunities to be involved in several of the following areas: evangelism, discipleship, home groups, English classes, music classes, worship leading, children’s ministry, youth and college ministry, sports ministry, community development, etc.

The Goer would work under local church leadership and alongside global workers in a network of several churches in 5 towns North of Mexico City, in EdoMex, that cooperate and support one another.

The communities with in-progress church plants are mostly in massive housing developments that have the feel of an urban village filled with young families, who, unlike their religious parents, have no religious affiliation, creating a spiritual climate that could be described as urban agnostic.

One of the church plants also has an opportunity to work in the area of community gardens and aquaponics as part of the community outreach.

Goers will live with a Mexican host family, participate in an established Mexican church a d work alongside those local believers and some seasoned missionaries in their church planting efforts. Trainings outside of ministry will occur every week where our Goers take Spanish classes, participate in workshops with their cohort, and learn practical ministry tools to better equip them for their ministry settings.
