Mongolia is one of the least densely populated countries in the world. A little over 3 million people live in the country twice the size of Texas. Agriculture, ranching, and mining are the primary domestic products. The country is landlocked with Russia to the north and China to the south. Both neighbors exert a lot of influence in Mongolia.
Formerly a satellite nation state with the Soviet Union, Mongolia has had its freedom since 1989.
Our team is involved in a number of fields in Mongolia, including English teaching, medical training, and agriculture. The number of livestock in Mongolia and limited access to resources have led to overgrazing and desertification.
Goers in this position, will study Mongolian language and culture for one year, followed by one or more years of agriculture work in Darkhan. You will work closely with beef farmers, who are opening a satellite feed lot in Darkhan and train locals in proper management of cattle and resources to help combat overgrazing.
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Experience in 1 on 1 or small group ministry desirable but not required
