Agricultural Business Manager

The Agricultural Business Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the operations of our farmers basket delivery service and other agricultural initiatives, ensuring its profitability, sustainability, and growth. This position involves a combination of strategic planning, operational management, financial oversight, and leadership within the agricultural sector.

The Agricultural Business Manager needs to be an innovative individual who leverages their expertise to drive the success of our agricultural endeavors as they will work alongside our local non-profit and local farmers where we seek love our neighbor through mental, physical, and spiritual means. Together, we are sustainably integrating business with community impact so that the body of Christ can live out the way of Jesus alongside others.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Strategy and Planning:
-Develop and implement comprehensive business plans, strategies, and goals for the agricultural division, aligning with the organization's overall objectives.
-Identify market trends, emerging opportunities, and competitive landscape to drive innovation and business expansion.
-Ensure compliance with local, regional, and national agricultural regulations, permits, and environmental standards.

Operations Management:
-Oversee day-to-day agricultural operations to ensure efficient use of resources, implement best practices, and optimize processes to maximize productivity and quality.
-Manage the supply chain, including sourcing raw materials, managing inventory levels, and coordinating distribution and logistics.
-Build and maintain relationships with local farmers and small natural foods businesses.
-Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement among team members.

Financial Management:
-Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for the agricultural business.
-Monitor expenses, revenue, and profitability, identifying areas for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.

Market Development and Sales:
-Explore and develop new markets, distribution channels, and customer segments to expand the agricultural business' reach and sales and to promote agricultural products and services effectively.

Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship:
-Implement sustainable agricultural practices that prioritize environmental conservation, resource efficiency, and ethical considerations.
-Explore and integrate innovative technologies and methods to enhance sustainability and reduce environmental impact.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, or a related field or have experience in agricultural management.
-Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
-Excellent budget management skills.
-Knowledge of agricultural practices, and logistics.
-Effective communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with stakeholders.
-Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
-Commitment to sustainable and ethical agricultural practices.
-Complete B2-level Spanish and take basic Gallego language classes.
