Where is Time Going?!
Time is going so fast! I just passed my 8 month mark of being in Berlin. Crazy. At the end of May, I finished my B2.2 German course! B2 is the highest level I am required to take. People normally only take C1 (the next level) if they want to study at a German university. Even though I finished B2, I am not done with formal language learning (thankfully, as I still have lots to learn!). My next class is a German grammar course. I hope to take the B2 test in October. Please pray my knowledge of German would deepen, and I would understand/remember what I learn. Learning German is important to… Read more >>
5 Month Mark
I've been in Berlin (almost) 5 Months! The start of this year has brought some really big blessings. The first was on January 8 I moved into an apartment! The whole apartment search for me was crazy fast - it took less than a month. I only applied for around 8 places while some of my colleagues have applied for around 100. This is a HUGE HUGE praise how quickly Jesus provided such an amazing apartment as Berlin's housing market is quite competitive. I have a balcony connected to my room which looks out to a cute little roundabout with different shops and restaurants. In the center of the… Read more >>
My First 2 Months in Berlin
Frohe Weihnachten & Adventszeit from Berlin! Hard to believe it's been 2 months since I landed! Berlin already feels so familiar I feel like I've been here longer. Everyday I feel more and more comfortable in this magical, captivating, and mesmerizing city. I started language school back on 10/31 and am now about halfway done with my second class. Each class is an intensive 4-week class. My classes have been fairly small with about 10 people total. My classmates come from all over the world! I can already tell a huge improvement in my German. I've also been going to what's called "… Read more >>
Wilkommen in Berlin!
I arrived in Berlin !!!! On Monday 10/10 I arrived in Berlin! I had no issues or delays with any of my 3 flights and all my bags arrived on time, too, which was a MIRACLE. My first full day in Berlin began my orientation! Most days during my first couple weeks I went to visit a different teammate in their part of the city, and they would give me a tour of their neighborhood (or Kiez as it's called in German). I've loved being able to meet my team and get to see how diverse and beautiful Berlin is! Today, I started intensive language classes that I'll continue doing for the next year. It's… Read more >>
