Engineering
Engineers are in great need in the developing world. This year we have a needs of civil, mechanical, agricultural and chemical engineers.
What would I do? What does a typical day look like?
Throughout your time as a GoCorps volunteer, you will have three primary focuses: language and culture learning, relationship building and engineering projects. Language and cultural learning will be the primary focus at the beginning of your time overseas, and the time invested in language learning will also be the key way that you build relationships and learn about the culture.
While there are no ‘normal’ days when serving outside of your home culture, a typical day as a GoCorps goer might include:
- Personal devotions and prayer
- 2-4 hours of focused language learning
- Going to the market to put your new vocabulary words into practice
- Tea with new friends
- Worship and prayer with GoCorps team
- Developing and working on the specific project as assigned by your host team leader

- Love for God
- Self-starters and persevering
- Love and compassion for people
- Prayerful
- Background/education in mechanical or civil engineering
