Missions is too important to be left to missionaries

We at GoCorps believe that missions is too important to be left to just the missionaries.

What do we mean by that? Well, we believe that God's desire is for all of those that follow him to be involved in his great mission to see his name be made famous in all the earth and to bring hope and life that is truly life to the whole world. All of us can participate with God by sharing the good news with the lost that we encounter everyday and by making disciples where we are.

And for the great task of the great commission and global missions, all hands on deck are needed. The task is so great, and so important, that God's got a part for all of us to play. In Scripture, we see the command to pray for the lost, to pray for workers to go to the least of these as well as the command to go.

We at the GoCorps believe that God loves the world so much, that he wants all of us to play a part in bring the good news to the last of those who've never heard. Ultimately, we need long-term full time career oriented missionaries that are committed to going and for staying as long as it takes.

However, there is also the need for volunteers that will go for a mid-term commitment (2+ years) and work alongside these career missionaries. Further, a crucial need of long term missionaries is lots of us to partner with them financially; to give generously and sacrificially to the projects and to the mid and long term missionaries. And of course, especially as we're talking about working to see the gospel take root in the hardest places, there is a great opportunity and need for prayer.

Missions was never meant to be left just to the missionaries. It's simply too important to God for such a small segment of His church to take on. Instead, his plan from the beginning was for the whole church, for all of His followers, to participate in his great mission of making disciples of all peoples.

GoCorps, recognizing the importance of the task and the gap in the number of global workers, exists to help non-missionaries find a way to join directly into bringing the gospel to the least of these. So, if you're not a missionary... GREAT - GoCorps is meant for you!
