Compassion - Justice
There are people all over the world that are dying unjustly. In some countries in Africa, over 35% of the population has AIDS or HIV. On streets in cities all across the globe thousands of children are at risk, roaming the streets and are abused and neglected. Human trafficking and slavery is more common today than during the civil war and millions are refugees, without home and without a country. Does God’s have a plan to reach these people? Does God have a plan to bring Hope to the hopeless? You bet he does. You are his plan. Being a GoCorps volunteer through the compassion and justice track will give you the opportunity to invest a season of your life on the front lines of these issues, actually being Christ’s hands and feet to those in the world who need to feel Christ’s touch most.

What would I do? What does a typical day look like?
Being Christ’s hands and feet in the GoCorps placements will not be easy. These are hard situations with lots of pain and hurt. What does a typical day look like? Here’s a few ideas of what some of your experiences may be like:
- Spend the morning walking house to house (or hut to hut) telling families about AIDS/HIV prevention and treatment options
- Hang out at the local bar (sipping a coke) ministering to women who’ve been forced into prostitution because of poverty or circumstance
- Pray for deep level healing with a new friend who’s experienced deep hurts and/or abuse
- Prayer, worship and crying out to God to heal the wounds of the people that God’s called you to share his love with
What we’re looking for in Compassion/Justice volunteers:
- Love for God and people
- Self-starters
- Hard workers with willing, servant hearts
- Able to own the whole vision to transform the city and country where they are placed.
