Business
According to The World Bank, almost half the world, over three billion people, lives on less than $2.50 a day. Although Western aid can be helpful in emergency situations, it is not sustainable and tends to push developing countries to depend heavily on wealthier nations. A well known phrase; “give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach him how to fish and he will eat for a life-time,” correctly describes what this track is all about. Simply, helping people who live in impoverished communities start up their own businesses, and training them to be successful at it.
Basic business instruction and training can empower many individuals to provide for their
own families, which then leads to transformed communities. The benefits that come from gainful employment include increased self worth, better health and education
for families, stronger families and communities, more local stability and peace and
stronger local institutions, including churches. A
holistic ministry approach is created when initiatives like this work in
conjunction with spiritual outreach, education, health and
justice.
