Application Process Overview

Thank you for your interest in applying to be a GoCorps goer!  The GoCorps application process will help you to discern if now is the right time for you to go.  Through the application process, we’ll help you to answer some important questions:

  • Is God calling you to serve globally among the least reached for 2 years?
  • If so, where should you go and what team will be the best fit for you?

So, we invite you to fill out an application and let the application process help you to discern if going to serve among the poor for two years is the right next step for you.  Learn more by watching the 8 minute video on the right that gives an overview of GoCorps and the application process.  If you'd like to ask some questions about the application and sending process or learn more about which track and placement might fit you best, filling out the Inquiry Form is a good first step. 

The GoCorps Application Process
The GoCorps process starts by your filling out the GoCorps online application and having five people submit online reference forms.

Early Application Deadline:  January 15*
Final Application Deadline:  February 21
Application Fee:  $35

*Apply before the early application deadline and there's no application fee!

Within two weeks of submitting your application, you will be informed as to whether you have been invited to the next step in the process: a phone interview.  At this point, there will be a few other informational forms for you to fill out and you will receive information as to how to schedule your phone interview.

After your interview, you will either be offered an overseas assignment to serve as a GoCorps goer, or you'll be informed of other ways that you may be able to serve overseas.  Applicants should expect to know if they've been given an overseas assignment within 10 weeks after they submitted their application.

We hope that you'll apply!  While the online application and the various additional informational forms are quite comprehensive, please know that they are designed to help determine if serving overseas with GoCorps is a good fit for you this year. Try not to get stressed or stalled in the application process.  Keep plugging through and work hard on each stage of the process.  It's a lot of work but it's worth it!
