Application Process Overview

Thank you for your interest in applying to be a GoCorps volunteer!  The application process is important as it will help you to discern if now is the time for you to go.  Through the application process, we’ll help you to answer some important questions:

  • Is God calling me to go to the nations for two years when I graduate?
  • If so, which country should I go to and how should I serve?

So, we invite you to apply. Let the application process help you to discern if going to serve among the poor is a good first step for your first two years after college.

The GoCorps Application Process
The GoCorps process starts by your logging in and filling out the GoCorps online application and having five people submit online reference forms.  Please make sure you complete the application step of this process on time.  (The next application deadline is March 1, 2011.)

Within two weeks after your application has been submitted, you will be informed as to whether you have been invited to an interview.  At this point, there will be a few other informational forms for you to fill out and you will receive information as to how to schedule your phone interview.

After your interview, you will be informed if you have been given an overseas assignment to serve as a 2011 GoCorps volunteer.  Applicants should expect to know if they've been given an overseas assignment within eight weeks after the application deadline.

We hope that you'll apply!  While the online application and the various additional informational forms are quite comprehensive, please know that they are designed to help determine if serving overseas with GoCorps is a good fit for you this year. Try not to get stressed or stalled in the in the application process.  Keep plugging through and work hard on each part of the process.  It's a lot of work but it's worth it!
